The curl chart divides hair textures into three main categories: wavy (Type 2), curly (Type 3), and coily (Type 4). Within each category, there are smaller subtypes labeled A through C that describe how tight or loose your curl pattern is.
Type 2: Wavy Hair
Wavy hair has a loose “S” shape that ranges soft bends to more defined waves. Wavy hair is usually weighed down easily, so lighter products are best Recommendation: Redken One United Leave-In-Conditioner.
Type 3: Curly Hair
Curly hair forms more defined spirals or ringlets and need extra hydration to stay soft and bouncy. My hair falls into the 3B-3C category, which means I need and definition to keep my curls healthy and full. Recommendation: Camille Rose Curl Love Moisture Milk Leave-In Conditioner , is my go to leave-in. It’s rich, smells amazing, and keeps my curls hydrated and defined without any crunch.
Type 4: Coily Hair
Coily hair has a tighter curls and zigzag patterns that are full of volume. It usually needs products with heavier consistency because Type 4 hair does not absorb moisture easily. Recommendation: As I am Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave-In Conditioner, It deeply nourishes coils and helps strengthen strands while keeping them soft and defined.
